Wipeout Pure Downloads Available

Image hosted by Photobucket.comPSP owners agree - Wipeout Pure kicks ass. I don't know if it's the speed, the graphics, or the handling, but something sucks me in when I'm playing that makes me forget it's just a game. That's why I was so excited when I heard about this! The makers of Wipeout Pure have made the first download of updated content available on their website.

Downloadable content has been available for a while thanks to the X-Box, and of course people have been downloading new content for ages with PC gaming. But this is the first time we've seen it on a handheld, which, in my opinion, is supercool. What does that mean to Wipeout Pure owners? A new track, vehicle, and menu skin can be added to your game! To do this, you have one of three options. If you have your PSP set up with wireless, you may be able to download the content by simply selecting "Download" from the in-game menu. Otherwise, you can visit the Wipeout Pure website with your PSP plugged in (you'll need to own the mini-USB cable for this) and it should automatically update your system from their downloads section. If it doesn't recognize your PSP (like it didn't for me) don't get discouraged, there's still hope. The download is available from psp-hacks.com. If you get it here, you'll have to manually copy the folder you download into the SAVEDATA folder on your PSP's memory stick. One last word of advice for you if this is your first time doing anything PSP to PC - if you don't choose USB Connection from the Settings menu on the PSP, the PC won't recognize it. It may not look like it's doing anything on the PSP, but don't back out of that screen or it won't be connected!

Now go enjoy your new track in your new vehicle!
